I think they mean somthing that everyone can see. I looked at the mod available and it looked very troublesome and didn't quite do what I wanted, so I wrote my own "Members who have visited today" hack. It starts from midnight each day and displays under the "currently online" section on the forum homepage. I changed mine to 'last 24 hours' so it always looks full, but by default it reset at midnight (server time).

Unfortunately I am buggered if I can remember where it is, I guess it's in the forumhome modifications section.
