Secure section for paying members
Hi all,
Possibly a daft question, but im a newbie so fraid it needs a sympathetic basic answer. I would like to setup an area for Paying members, giving them secure connection. Can this be seperated so that paying members to my forum can use it, and the non paying members cant. Not being a tight arse, but my hosts want too much money for setting up the secure bits and bobs, which totaly exceeds my budget. Thanks to all those who reply |

Right then
Sorry I hadn't seen this before but here's your answer Make sure that you have your subscriptions set up so that paying members go into another usergroup. This can be as a secondary group as it doesn't really matter. Now go into your forums manager and create the forum that you want your paying members to have access to. Go into permissions manager and change the permissions for all other usergroups except admins, global mods, mods, and your subscribed group so that they cannot view the forum. Hey presto, it's done. If you want to add any further forums for them just use that one as the parent forum for the permissions to be carried over or set the permissions for the new forum as above. |
