Default Template Access

After some looking, I haven't seen this anywhere so here I go.

Could someone make a way, or show me, how to allow administrators access to only edit certain templates. I am starting to recruit help for my website, and giving them access to the templates to update things, well, seems a little risky.

Please help me!

this is what we call confidence in someone... use someone you know and you can have confidence in...

because when someone can access the templates, he can trick one of these and send a javascript that will scramble all your datas...

Not necessarily that I don't trust them, but accidents happen, and the community I work with is rather small, not much choice. Would this even be possible?

you can't specify what template someone can edit, globally, because it would be an complete addition for the template system for now...

but you can specify who can administer the templates... in the usergroup... you apply the Administrator permission to a user/group, and then you go to the Administrator Permissions panel, where you will be able to edit who can admin what part of the board...

Yeah I know that, and that is why it is under the Modification Requests forum.

Hmm isn't the template things just database entries?

Ok intresting idea, how about allowing say a member group access to certain areas of the admin, ie skins area only, or user and user group, so that staff can validate members, or change there names and so on ?

Would this be possible.

Sorry i am new, i ask silly questions that the next day i find is a feature already on VB

Validate Members - I suggest copying the code for "Moderate Users" to the ModCP (I did)

Template Access - If you're worried about security, I suggest you set up a test site and give restricted access to the users that you'll be getting to work on your site. Then when they have finished modifying a specific template, you could just copy & paste to the actual site.

*shrugs* Just some ideas
