Hello all,
I would appreciate your comments on a new student community solely based on VB. Our website is to bring students from Universities and High Schools across Canada together. While here visitors can trade books with each other, chat with each other and discuss campus pro and cons. So far only the online book trading phase has been implemented with the other phases to follow after the New Year.

This site is 100% free, and there are no plans to charge students; business' is another story (but everything is free right now).

I am looking for feedback on the overall site, but an emphasis on easy of use and navigation. For those commenting who are experienced with VB, I would greatly appreciate if you can provide solutions (links to other threads, code samples, guides, etc) accompanying your suggestions. I am very new to VB and have very limited experience with MySQL and PHP.

If you like something you see on my site and would like to use it on your site, ask me and I will send you the code.

All type comments will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not very keen on the green fonts to be perfectly honest. Also the giant green fonts are a big turn-off. In your header you have images representing links. Without hovering over them I don't know what they are. Perhaps you could have some kind of rollover which says what they are. Or better yet put a little font below each one saying what they are.

I think my main criticism is with the over-sized fonts

Rollovers in your navbar would make a nice addition.

The style is good, except for the background. It doesn't really match, IMO.

It's a bit cheesy. A clean contempory design goes down well with students. Also, at one time a few people on my site loved the dark design I made for a bit.
