Default PHP-Nuke and vBulletin?

I know you've probably heard this before, but is there a way to integrate PHP-Nuke with vBulletin? I know that you cannot distritube vBulletin with free software. However, my idea is a rewritten Nuke built somewhat around vBulletin...with the PHP-Nuke version being distributed freely, under GNL or whatever.

Yes it is possible, though it's a daunting job.
It took us 2 solid weeks, and I mean non-stop coding in order to do that for postnuke.
As to the approach you suggest, I definately would not go that way. When you get to the point of having to modify either system to work together, other than simple include statements you are asking for a headache. What happens when you want to upgrade either system? Well you have a lot of coding ahead.
I have zero experience with phpnuke, but since postnuke comes from them years ago, I'm sure the process would be the same as what we endured.
As to the previous poster suggesting the other portals, that is a route to take, though kinda a copout on really answering your question. There is currently no portal anywhere near as powerfull and modular as the "nukes".
There are a number of concerns reguarding phpnuke and security, and those are fairly severe, which is why I chose postnuke years ago.
Other people complain about the nuke's being heavy, but in reality they are not bad when setup correctly. For instance, on our site we've had as many as 1534 people online at one time with zero issues. Of course that was only during the time we were interviewed for larry king, but still not to bad.

Hi Dreamhost,

Is this still the same set up as on your site right now?

Kind regards
Gavin

Just wanted to ask.

Mu oppinion with postnuke is that the rights and policites are a little hard/strange to configure. PHPnuke is much more clear.

I only have 1 question.
How can I make it possible to:
1. hard way I guess; integrate the Vbulletin loginsystem
2. simple; let the link for the forums go to my Vbulletin forum instead of going to the standard PHPBB.
