Is there a way to make collapseable objects on a page start with a default setting of collapsed instead of a default of open? If I can't find such a hack I'm going to have to just not display the child forums of a page I'm working on at all, because there's so many of them the homepage is too long. I know how to do the latter by modifying the forumhome template, but I want to do the former.

BTW, I would prefer a method that can be achieved through template mods only.
