Minimum Server
I have a small board I am running. I keep it small for 2 reasons. We are a tight group and because I have a SMALL server. My server is only a p4 with 512 megs of ram. I have 140 members now and when 10 people are on I still do not see to much lag. I was wondering if I was going to open my site to the public is this going to be enough server to handle 30-50 people at a time??

Should be no big problem IMHO.
I had a P4 1.8 with 1 GB which could handle about 200-300 users online (15 minute cookies timeout) |

I have a 750 mhz with 512 ram and have had 56 peeps on no problem, I think the bandwidth would play a part before the server if you are running it from home.

I'll just poke my head in here to say that I was running a 20-user-simutaneously site on an AMD Duron 1.3 gHz with 256MB of PC100 RAM.
Quite a crappy machine, even Windows ran slowly, but the site itself ran fine. (I have since upgraded to a hosting package from 1and1.com, an awesome hosting provider.) |

We run an old AMD 1ghz , however recently a user count of 130 simultaneous on one site and it was fine.
