Can I reproduce this presentation of subforums with vB3.01, and if so, what are the steps?

If you look how they do it here (to have both) it is actually a built in search

I need to implement some groups of subforums at our site and this looked appealing.
It appears that this forum is a subforum and that the categories are hidden, but linked by way of each thread title.

Is it as `simple' as that?
