Your current Version is 2.3.2 - database-wise.
I am not sure if 2.2.9-files are compatible with 2.3.2 database-structure, and I doubt a downgrade is possible.

I would suggest: Upload unmodified 2.3.2 files, then upgrade to 2.3.4 and check if everything works ok.
Then re-apply all the hacks you installed (with software like Beyond Compare this isn't too difficult nor time-consuming).
