Would you elaborate a little on this. I'm using Windows XP. Also what is the best way to determine what the dynamic IP address I'm currently on. How often does it change? I'm using a Linksys wireless router. Thanks. |

Hi Andy,
If I may, go to your DOS screen. Then type in IPCONFIG. You'll see something like this: Windows IP Configuration Connection-specific DNS configuration...........:YOUR ISP.whatever IP Address........................................... ..........:10.10.10.25 (or your IP range) Subnetmask........................................ ..........: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway........................................... : 10.10.10.1 If your run say behind a Linksys router like I do, goto your admin screen. Next click on status and it will show your IP to the internet. Hope that helps! |

That did help.
I wonder how often the IP address changes? I thought it being dynamic it changes everytime I unplug the router. |

Not necessarily, I think it is more on a timed thing than anything.
I'm glad it helped, feel free to E-Mail or PM if you have more questions. Happy New Year! |
