I'm assuming you mean lookup and edit a user in the admin control panel. Is this much correct?
If so, how about an example of a name the causes this problem. Maybe then we could answer. |

admin cp /Censorship Options/Blank ASCII Character Stripper: If there are certain raw ASCII characters you would like to strip from posts/usernames etc, enter their ASCII numbers here, separated by spaces. Please note that stripping raw ASCII characters with this setting may break some double-byte languages. If you are unsure, remove the contents of this setting. well ive removed all contents but its still not working.. why?? |

"I tried recreating this on your forum with several different character encodings in the browser. My guess is that it is caused by double byte fonts used by certain languages like Japanese. However I wasn't able to reproduce it.
I tried character encodings from UTF-8 to Celtic, Cyrillic, Big-5 (Chinese), Shift-JIS (Japanese), and Arabic. What browser are they using and what are the language settings of their OS? You can probably fix the issue by adding a character encoding metatag to your headinclude template that specifies a Western or UTF character encoding" Wayne Luke vBulletin Team ---------- anyone knows how can i do this?? |

Just wondering... If I want everyone to be able to post their own language and it will all come out alright and whoever reads the thread will be able to read it as its orginal language... how would i make that happen?

You need to search for the fllowing line in "adminfunction.php" file under your "admin" folder:
<meta content="text/html; charset=windows=XXXX" http:-equib="Content-Type"> and replace the XXXX with the windows charactor set used for Arabic (try 1256). Save and upload the file. Every thing should look normal now, for both your CP and the home page of your forums. All the best, |
