Looking for a simple hack!?

Hope I am putting this in the right place.

I am wanting to know if there is a hack avail for 2.3.0 that would allow me to input some info in a members post from my admin panel when I look at a persons prfile from the admin panel.
What I am looking for is sorta like one you have amount of posts made or location listing in the area below the user id in posts......

I want to be able to have another field in that area that I can add (adding it to what appears would be to the USER PROFILE fields in my admin panel) info. I am looking to add a SIMPLE Donating Member blurb there that I can simple put yes or no there thru the admin panel and the users not be able to edit it themselves.
I know there is a DONTATION hack on this site and I have looked at it but that seems to to me to me then I need. There has to be an easier way to do it?

Create a new user profile field and make it editable by admins only.
Note its id
Edit template Postbit/postbit
put $post[fieldX] in the location you want (Replace X with the id)
When you want to assign a user the title, enter "Donating Member" to this field in your admin cp.

I muddled thru that last night, I think I did it like you explain above but could not get it to work. I shall try some more.
