This isn't matix 3. It is more or less matrix 2 part 2. Thats why the ending was kind of lacking. Just like the lord of the ring series.

I saw the trailer for this at the very end of the credits of Matrix: Reloaded when it was in theaters.

I don't think it's the exact same trailer. The one at the end of Matrix 2 was a teaser.
