Simple Layout Changes
Hello Guys,
Can someone give me some guidelines on how to make simple structural layout changes in VB V.3? Some of the things that i would like to do is move the site map drop down menu, the serach box, and the login fields to the top of the webpage becuase a lot of people don't see them. Thanks! Tim |

Try searching for them in their respective templates, and moving them around. Some of them are just HTML, some others are PHP variables. The PHP variables will probably be harder to notice, but you can tell what they are by seeing their variable names.
And if you need help knowing which template something is in, you could find the following in the vBulletin Options and checking "Yes" for it: Add template name in comments |

Some of the variables are actually other templates, such as the $logincode, and the $forumjump (the login/logout code, and the forum jump box, respectively).
So, let's say you wanted to move the forumjump box to the top of every thread page instead of the bottom, so then you'd look for $forumjump at the bottom of showthread template, and move it to the top somewhere. It's as simple as that |

Got it! I was able to make some simple changes on my own. This is so cool Gary Oh yeah, if I were to change one layout change I would have to change them in every single template?

Depends on what you are talking about.
