MySql help.
hopefully someone here can help me. Mt Database got corrupted and I have a backup of my old database. Unfortunately when I attempt to redo the tables via ssh the server gets about 2/3 of the way done then shuts down. I am on a shared server if you haven't guessed.
What I old like to do is delete the attachments and search tables BEFORE I try to load the backup. How can I open the .sql file on my local windows pc and remove the attachments table? This alone is over 200 megs and should let me properly upload my backup. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

I'm no expert, but I'd back it up, then try opening a copy in Access or MySql Admin. Once you get it opened, just browse to, select that faulty table and delete it.
But.. yea.. I'd try Access or MySql Admin to get it opened and editable. |

Follow the steps at http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/movingservers.html . Put simply you're probably screwed if you made a backup any other way.
The file will be effectively uneditable in Windows just because it's so huge and it'll take forever just to seek in it. |
