Default Will pay for mysql transfer

I am clueless on the ways of the mysql beast.

I am going to switch servers and need serious help in transfering all my information.

If anybody is interested in helping me, please respond here or email at thesonyoualwayswanted@hotmail.com.

Hell, even AIM will work: Jay Krupp

Thank you for any help.

If your database size is large, you can not restore your backup via PHPMyadmin or other similiar tools. Telnet/SSH access to the server is the only guarenteed method however many hosting companies do not allow their user's direct access to server. Then your only choice is to ask them restore the db themselves or find a different host..

If you have a small database "easy ways" so should work ok..

I am having one hell of a time doing this...
seeing that my database is small i could just restore it in PHPmyadmin...... but where do i upload at???

these are the only things i can choose from

[sql]
Create new database
Documentation
Log out

[phpMyAdmin]
Language
phpMyAdmin documentation
Official phpMyAdmin Homepage
ChangeLog
CVS
Lists

and on the left frame i can choose my databases and edit them table by table.

this is driving me up the wall, any body have any ideas.

(sorry if this post is all mixed up... my brain isnt going at full speed right now, no sleep for 36 hours will do that to you)

First click the database base name which you'll work on from the left (if you dont have it yet, create one, then choose it)

Then click "SQL" from the top right. You'll have 2 options:
1- Copy paste the content of your backup in the SQL box.
2- Or better you'll enter the file name to box that says "Or Location of the textfile".
In both options you may (or may not) have problems if your content is more than 2 Mb.
