I was very reluctant to reply here because you said keep chit chat here to a minimum but if everyone else is giving their two cents then i will..
I agree entirely with Logician in the fact that you can't expect a user to shift through 500+ posts in a a thread to search for an error or such. Perhaps there should be an "option" to create an FAQ for you hack. In the hack's thread perhaps a button for "Create FAQ" then you go to a screen where you can input up to three FAQ's at a time. Then you could have a little box on the right of the quick reply forum in the full releases forum which would say something like: "Make sure to check the FAQ for this hack before posting any questions" - that could only be applicable if the user has created an FAQ. IMO that would be far more useful than having a forum for each hack. Regards - miSt |
