An Anti-SPAM registration hack

I've been searching the forums and found nothing about this.
It's being reported by a few members that their boards are being flooded by some kind of mass registration script.
So, what about a hack to prevent this, some kind of random generation code, just like the one at hotmail.com?

hmm, this is discussed on vb.com as a suggested feature for vb3 right?

think it wouldn't be too hard to code, but who prevents someone, from also getting this random code into his script everytime?....

as the question: is it really needed?
maybe i'll think about it, or if anyone has time.....

should be a work for about 10 mins, not more (2 template edit and 2 file edits on the same file)

Wouldnt be hard at all. Just to many lazy programmers like myself.

Code must be generated, ex: 12345, inserted into db, finally parsing the random generated numbers as gifs.
