Style Question
If this has been done already, can you help me find it, as I did a search and found nothing.
I am having a problem with my styles and wanted to know if I have over looked something or if someone knows how to fix this problem. I am running the beta of PHPPortals and 2.2.8 of VB, using the default style. I have just uploaded some new styles to the server, and with this my logo has to be edited, as well as a few other little things... At the same time I am also working on my own style. The issue is that if I have the styles turned off I, as the Admin am not able to see, or select the style. At the same time if I turn them on, all the users are able to select them as well. What I would like to have happen, and I am sure that I have done this before. But I would like as the ADMIN and my MODERATORS to be able to use the new style and test it as well as fix, create, or what ever we have to do to it before we make it available to the users to have. Is this something that is doable? And can anyone help? Rob |

I'm pretty sure this will work with no hack needed.
Try changing the vBulletin Options >> Allow Users To Change Styles to no, then in Styles >> Modify >> Properties >> User Selectable set to yes. You should then be able to swicth to the style via adding the styleID# to your URL, but users should not see the selection box in their CP options, until you set the vBulletin Options >> Allow Users To Change Styles to yes. To get the style ID number make sure you have your status bar visible and in your Admin CP go to Styles >> Modify and hover over the links for the style you want. Look in the status bar as you hover over the link and you should see the URL, at the end you should see styleid=##. To add that to your forum URL just do it like this. http://yoursite.com/forum/index.php?s=&styleid=## where ## is the number of the styleID you are working on. I'm not positive this works, but it should. |
