Invested $250,000 and failed
Invested $250,000 in this site datasn.com. It's been 4 years and it's got only 120 members. The vision is to create a huge data platform that crawls and collects the data of the entire Internet for easy and affordable consumption by programs, so we can easily build up websites, app, AI, correlation analysis off these datasets. We can even create vertical search engines that are really good at answering specific questions, rather than just plain queries by keywords.
Some of our best datasets: https://datasn.io/p/245 (Auto parts) https://datasn.io/p/2447 (US yellow pages) They are really good and up to date data at affordable prices, however, people are not buying it. Your idea? Is this a viable business model at all? Should I keep moving or just give up on this path? We are giving up as we speak...........maintaining a system of this magnitude bleeding us out...... Kavoir.com |

Content scraping will generally get you blacklisted by search engines.
That is what search engines do and they do not want competition from you. |

I think part of the problem is in the presentation. Your home page https://www.usabledatabases.com/ tells me little to nothing and just presents a bunch of databases I can buy. Somewhere on your site was a link to: https://www.thedataplanet.com/databases.html This home page told me what it is that they do though in a minimalistic way. I think you need to build more content and what your site focuses on, what it has and what you can do. Have you done the usual Google Ads? Have you promoted and have any back links? You can spend all the money in the world but on the internet for every idea 1,000 others are doing the same. You need to stand out and understand what your competition is doing. As a start up find the 800lb gorilla and mimic their business model to the best of your ability and try to gain some traction. Unfortunately the old saying of build it and they will come does not carry much weight on the internet.

I relocated this thread to the Community Lounge, we prefer the Community Reviews involve a vBulletin derived or associated-with site. Everything else is discussed here .

Wowww, it all sounds pretty amazing. I´m not a database expert but it sounds really good. About the investment... If I´d have that money I´d be probably wasting it, So keep it up man and good luck!
