Without any meaning to involve in your business, I believe that Dave should be very good Moderator.

Not to imply he doesn't want the position but shouldn't we leave it to Dave to determine if he wants to apply for the position?

Furthermore, IB couldn't care less who its customers think should be moderators.

How soon they forget.

He doesnt get asked when demoted later, so why ask him now?

But yes, Dave would be a good (global-)moderator, but this also means to look for a new advisor...
