new topic glow code for vb4?

hello,

im wondering can anyone help me understand the way for this?

after glowing forum icons for new content...rather than the simple icon change it does...

it seems much easier in vb5 because there is this type of>>
.topic-item.read .vb-icon-topic-status

but im not sure in vb4 where exactly does it know about old and new content?
what template would i need to edit and where? i am not adverse to template edit, this is vb4.2.5 so it isnt upgrading...

really enjoy the effect on my vb5, hoping it is possible...thanks

If you want to affect the CSS of unread threads, edit the class selector in "threadlist.css" which reads:

.threadbit .threadtitle_unread {
	font-weight: bold;
}

or, if you'd prefer not to edit that template, you can add that same class selector and include the desired CSS in "additional.css".

hmm im more after the main forum icons, but perhaps it is similar code eh?

Well if you're only going to be changing the forum icons (images), then perhaps it would be better to take the image & apply a glow effect to it in photoshop and reupload it to your server.

i am after like, top class modern CSS glowING effect tho...looks so much better if it is any way possible....thanks tho

i got the rough code just not sure where to put it into the html or however it needs hmm...maybe something like

for more info, after some testing this is the dilema i see...

and also this is based of a thread on glenn v's site although that is discussing vb5 so here is what i got after the feedback and some poking around....

so we notice that if we add the effect to what i believe i found as the "proper" which is>>

.forumbit_post .foruminfo .forumicon

that will make all of them glow regardless of new/old post status...

so then as it is suggested in the other article, we must then restrict the non-new contents with another code....so overall (and without the glow code of course which i include after)

the biggest problem seems it wants to consider them both _post and _nopost at the same time...
