Server directory /srv/attachments
We ran our forums on SMF. We migrated to vBulletin in 2012 IIRC.
Our server has a directory -- /srv/attachments -- that contains over 255 megabytes; .png, .jpg, .tmp, and 'other' letter/number files. None are newer than January 22, 2012. I believe we migrated to vBulletin around that time. So my question: Is this a directory that vBulletin uses at all? I tend to believe the answer is 'no', but before I do something I might regret, I want to 'ask first'. |

If the attachments folder at AdminCP > Attachments > Attachment Storage Type is not pointing to that directory, then it's probably not used. Also check the last modify date in that folder and see if it's still used.

AdminCP > Attachments > Attachment Storage Type reports "Attachments are currently being stored in the database".
The 'most recent' file in /srv/attachments 'by date/time' is January 22, 2012. |

Thank you.
I had intended to ask our forum owner to archive the directory and then remove it, but renaming it is a good idea. If no unexpected issues arise on our forum after doing so, then I will be reasonably confident that it can be removed (and regain nearly a quarter-gigabyte of server space). |
