Emails on password reset
I've been having zero luck getting the password reset to work on my VBulletin install. Would really appreciate any assistance or even just general directions to check. Thanks.

I don't have access to a vBulletin 5 installation, but I assume it's under the vBulletin Options > Email Options. Refer to the manual of vBulletin: https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/troubleshoot_email

oh ya look there, is a bunch of info in the manual i would not have guessed :P
im still trying to sort exactly, but i can tell for me its most likely in php settings...i want to try to resolve without using smtp but i guess we will see what options there can be... server is sending ok tho, no errors...but vb acp diagnostic is saying error trying to send with php... anyone can hint what are those correct settings? i have set sendmail_from as root@"my hostname.com" and smtp to localhost....my host believes those settings are correct yet the problem persists edit: omfg...mail() function was not enabled...idk how that happened but fixed again yay |
