Display username as image

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to display certain members of my forum's usernames as images, similar to staff members of this site. I read about a way to do this using replacement variables however that method replaces every instance of the user's name. I only want it to be replaced in the postbit and on their profile.

Is anyone aware of a plugin, hack, or method to go about doing this? Searching Google hasn't proven very helpful for me.

I think what I would do is create a "New User Profile Field" that can only be edited via the AdminCP, and then use plugins to do a replacement of the usernames if there is anything in a particular user's field.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like for me to come to your site and see if I can get that working.

you could use this mod but your users use the image they want Picture as Username Everywhere

or do it your self by

this will work on everywhere there is a musername

hook fetch_musername
XX = the userid you would like to have a picture as username
