Custom sub-forum layouts?

Hi guy,

Is there any mod that will allow me to add custom info in sub-forums like in xda?
For example here is specify info for Note 3 and forum sections:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3

and here is info and section of S4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4

I'm not aware of such mod, but it shouldn't be too hard for someone to make this.
Basically just query the database with the forumid to retrieve the custom information, then register a template variable and print it in the right forumdisplay template.

You are not going to find a MOD for something like this, but like @Dave said this is not a difficult task to for a programmer to work up a structure for you. The price could be reasonable if you are populating the data.

Couldn't this be done without an addon at all?

2 possibilities:

- Either use a child style of your style for each forum, just change FORUMDISPLAY template accordingly (the child style will inherit everything else from your main style) and set the forum to use the child style.

- Or, and probably even easier, you use notices. Just set the notice to show in the desired forum and add whatever HTML you want.

Hi mate,

I was able to create mod to write/read from the DB.
Now I want to render my template in $template_hook['forumdisplay_above_subforums']

I used hook location forumdisplay_start and parse_templates
But cant render it.
What hook location should I use?
