I like your signature, Cellarius.
The more I think about it, the easiest way would be to go javascript with that vb5

Last Wednesday i moved from 4.2.2 to vbulletin 5.

It was my biggest mistake this year (after getting married)
after More than 30 hours of edits, errors, custom codes the site still not working fine.

I will return back to vb4.

I can answer this only for myself.

In all the previous upgrades I did starting at 4.0.1 to 4.2.2 were done because I was under the impression having the latest version was a "MUST" have.

I can honestly admit that I was lucky in that almost all my mods followed along with every update, so I rarely encountered errors or issues, but it did occur now and again.

As a total noob to Vbulletin when everyone else was upgrading and commenting I believed it was best to stay current as well, least I fall behind, or worse I get hacked because I did not upgrade when I should have.

It was later on that I became more aware of who's who here at this site, and who's comments I can take to the bank!

You are already aware it was you who changed my mind about upgrading yet again. Had I not been informed or took the time to read, I would still be under the impression that having the latest and greatest version was a necessity - not an option.

I have to admit I really like what I see in VB5, and at some point I know I will buy it, but for now, I am happy to stay at what I have.

I try to get people to THINK before they act on this, not trying to talk them out of it altogether. Too many times "upgrades" are done without any real thought given. This occurs at home too, with computer operating systems, not just our online platforms.

Glad you're going into your next "upgrade" with eyes wide open.

best way to upgrade to VB5 at this time is... NOT TO... basic things are gone... other basic things don't work... and lots of bugs.

if you have any polls they will not upgrade... unless you upgrade to the unstable version of VB5.

Must be one hell of a good, compelling reason and i would love to hear it.
why didn't you tell me to ask myself that question
