Search Engine Optimizing
Ok... this might be a really dumb question. How do I go about improving my pages viability when search AND more specificly the info displayed when it comes up. Right now when I search "RideorRot.com" with Yahoo! it returns with the Page Name and then "Forum - Ride Or Rot!
rideorrot.com Cached If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ by clicking the link above. You may have to register before you can post: click the register link above to ... " I am pretty sure I have seen where this can be edited in the past, but cant find it to save my life now. Please help, also suggestions and tips for any other ways to optimize the site is welcome. |

Good question. Clearly a problem with the search engine, but they don't display that message for my own forum so I'm not sure what you could be doing differently. I should add that what they do display for me isn't much more useful - just seemingly random snippets.
Is your site map okay and has it been up long enough to be fully indexed (2-3 months)? |

You probably need to edit your page descriptions, the search engine is picking up this rather than the page descriptions.
A lot will depend on the number of pages you have indexed. |
