I went to admin > maintenance > clear system cache and also cleared out my browser.

Still stuck at 150. In content management there is a text as quoted "This will be used for preview text length if you do not specify a preview break" prior to the snippet box.

That might be what is causing it to not change? If that is the case, then I'm afraid that I cannot do that as I do not want snippets outside of recent article widget to explode.
