Hi,
I have created few categories for my blog. following are the urls... &blogcategoryid=1, &blogcategoryid=2, &blogcategoryid=3 Now I have deleted &blogcategoryid=2 for some reason and created another category and its url will be &blogcategoryid=4. My question is that can I change &blogcategoryid=4 to &blogcategoryid=2 |

But --- you shouldn't. Everyone who is new to this kind of software wants to do this kind of thing, when they first get started: keep the database numbering clean. You will realize very quickly that it cannot be done without you stressing over it on a regular basis. The software works by invalidating the old and creating a new ID. Use a database utility and view the table 'blogcategoryid'. You will see all sorts of inter-dependencies: parent id, parent list, child list. You would have to modify these correctly. If you have no content you could simply empty the table and start again. In reality you would write a simple php snipet to renumber categories. I don't think there is one, but you can check in the MOD section. Hopefully, I have convinced you to leave it alone. |
