Can not edit the first post
I feel pretty stupid about this ...
I am searching the VBB-CP and the WWW for quiet some time but can not find a solution Nobody can edit the First post on a thread ... Not the Topicstarter, no Mod, no Admin ... nobody How can i change that? I mean every mod and admin should be able to edit any post ... and even the topic creator should be able to edit his own posting (even if its the first one) I am using 5.0.1 |

edit times are set in Usergroup manager > edit the usergroup > Time limit for editing posts

but that is set to "0" ... that should mean unlimited, right? ...
and the problem is that it is only the very first post in a topic ... the following posts can be edited by any mod, any admin or the post writer |

What happens when you try to edit it? And can they edit their own threads? Did you check the usergroup permission "Can Edit Posts?" (for moderators) and "Can Edit Own Posts?"

There is simply no edit button ... so nothing happens
(all the other posts have an edit button, only missing in the first post of a thread) everybody can edit their own posts, except if the post is the startingpost (the very first in the thread) "can edit posts" and "can edit own posts" is set to yes for admin/mod "can edit own post" is set for the members //edit I just stumbeled over a forum where it actually is possible to edit the very first post in a topic ... so it seems it has something to do with the forum (channel) options ... any idea? |

Check Channel Management > Channel Permissions > find forum where you can't edit first post > check all usergroup permissions.
This isn't a time limit thing, is it? There is a setting called "Time Limit for Editing Posts (hr)" also on that page that you should check. |
