Back to what I need:

Here is an example:

Someone's important thread gets ruined somehow- part of it is lost. If I go back to a backup of the SQL database that I made a month ago, it is intact.

The question is, how would I go about MERGING the old thread that is intact with the current database where it is not- if this is possible?
