Yes, just create some custom CSS and put the cat id in front of it (#catx) and you should be able to modify it. We really can't get more specific without a link to the site and more specifics from you about what you want done.

I want to do something like I made in that picture example. A different design for each category that can be displayed on the front page without having to change styles. I'll try out the css you mentioned and let you know.
