        • Excluded Post Modes (Ultimate Edition Only)
Specific post modes can be excluded from being checked. By default all posts are checked regardless of it is mode. To exclude certain post mode, choose it from the list.
          • Opened
          • Moderated
          • Deleted

        • Check Existing Posts
Should existing posts be checked? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all posts within?
Turning this option 'OFF' means that the scheduled task (cronjob) will be completely useless, it will not do any work at all. Only new & edited posts will be checked if activated in the following settings.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Check New Posts (Ultimate Edition Only)
Should new posts be checked live (on real time)? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all replies as well?
Turning this option 'OFF' means that the scheduled task (cronjob) will be completely useless, it will not do any work at all. Only new & edited posts will be checked if activated in the following settings.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Check Edited Posts (Ultimate Edition Only)
Should edited posts be checked live (on real time)? If yes, then which of it should be? Only thread's head (first post), or all replies as well?
Turning this option 'ON' may cause users with low/limited internet connections to have some issues and may not be able to post, specially if their post contains many links to be checked.
Options: [None | All Posts | Thread's First Post]

        • Maximum Checked Links Per Post
How many links should be checked per post? If any post contains more than that defined limit, then those 'over limit' links will be ignored & will not be checked; only the first X links (as defined here) will be checked. Enter "0" for UNLIMITED.

        • Critical Limit/Red Line
Posts can be punished because of high percentage of dead links within. Define the "Critical Limit/Red Line" percentage here as a positive integer value (without any symbols). This "Critical Limit/Red Line" is the percentage that if dead links reaches or exceeded within a post, then that post will be punished.
          Notes & Examples:
          • "10" means if dead links within a post reaches or exceeded 10% of all included links it will be punished. If a post has less than 10% of dead links, then it will pass as valid without punishment.
          • "0" means that all links per post should be valid & alive (no dead links allowed, if just one link is dead the post will be punished); While "100" means the opposite, it means that all links within a post should be dead to be punished, that means if there is only one link alive & the rest are dead, the post will pass as valid without punishment.
          • If any post has only 5 links within it to be checked, that means each link represents 20% from all checked links. It means also if only one link is dead & you have set this setting to '10%' the expression will evaluate as true & will punish that post since it has 20% of dead links.

        • Check Succession Period
Successive checks for same posts can be separated by a certain period of time, so those 'checked recently' posts did not checked every time the script runs. Same posts can be checked multiple times, but with at least 1 day between each two successive checks. Define how many days should separate each two successive checks for the same post, or enter "0" to check posts ONLY ONCE. Note: "14" means your checked posts will be checked again every fourteen days (two weeks). "0" or a high Value usually recommended specially for large boards.

        • Checked Posts Per Batch
It is recommended to define a specific low number of posts to process in each run to prevent any possible timeout or Memory/CPU exhausting during the execution process. A Lower Value usually recommended specially for boards that has long posts with many links. There is other important factors that have strong affect as well such as: "Time/Date Cutoff Mode", "Time/Date Cutoff Value", "Check existing posts", "Maximum Checked Links Per Post", "Check Succession Period"; So please take care & try to set a logical acceptable value for each of these settings to avoid any expected/unexpected issues. You are the best one who knows your board & you are the one who can determine which suits you & your board according to your board's activity/content/requirements.

        • Remote Functions Maximum Redirections
The maximum amount of HTTP redirections to follow.

Rest Features:
  • Specific Features:-
    • AdminCP Options:
      • Punishment Settings:
        • Thread Punishment Methods
Multiple "Thread Punishment Methods" are available to choose from. Select preferred "Thread Punishment Methods" to apply. Note that "Thread Punishment Methods" are applied on Threads, regardless the checked post is the thread's header (first post) or not. If multiple posts in a thread were checked and any of these posts had dead links that exceeds the critical limit (has been flagged for punishment), and there is selected "Thread Punishment Methods", then the whole thread will be punished.

        • Post Punishment Methods (Ultimate Edition Only)
Multiple "Post Punishment Methods" are available to choose from. Select preferred "Post Punishment Methods" to apply. Note that "Post Punishment Methods" are applied on individual posts.
While it may be more logical to apply "Post Punishment Methods" on individual posts rather than applying "Thread Punishment Methods", it is recommended to use "Thread Punishment Methods" for technical reasons. At the mean time "Post Punishment Methods" is not as stable/solid as "Thread Punishment Methods", however both are using default vBulletin scenarios in applying their actions -exactly as normal moderation actions-.
          • Moderate Post
          • Delete Post

        • Punishment Recycle Bin Forum (Ultimate Edition Only)
If "Move Thread" method is selected in "Thread Punishment Methods" then a forum should be selected to move punished threads to it. Select preferred forum from the list.

        • On Edit: Revert Actions (Ultimate Edition Only)
If this option is enabled & if edited posts is being checked, and there were a past punishment for that specific post, then it can be reverted if the new check reports it as 'passed' (no dead links or few dead links under the critical limit). Suppose that the edited post was previously punished with (Close Thread - Move Thread - Moderate Post), after a valid check those past punishment actions can be reverted to (Open Thread - Move Thread back to it is original forum - Approve Post).

        • Powerful Usergroups (Ultimate Edition Only)
Powerful Usergroups are those usergroups that can override/overcome the "Critical Limit/Red Line" & force their posts to be posted despite of having dead links. Enter User Group IDs separated by normal English comma.

Note: This powerful ability does not affect only posts for those powerful usergroups, but affects also any post for any user that is edited by those powerful usergroups. It means they can overcome limits when posting/editing their own or others posts as well (They should have permissions to do so of course).

      • Tagging Settings:
        • Tag Threads - Reported Status
After checking a thread, threads can be tagged according to it is reported status: (ex: Alive, Dead).

        • Tag Threads - Included Hosts
After checking a thread, threads can be tagged according to included hosts: (ex: HF, RS, MU) OR (ex: Hotfile, Rapidshare, Megaupload).
This setting has a global effect, turning it off disables this feature globally regardless the per host/module settings.
You can control this feature per host/module & set host tag's text as well.

      • Look & Feel Settings:
        • Link Status Colors (Ultimate Edition Only)
Checked links can be colored according to their reported status, select your preferred colors from the color picker or write down the hexadecimal code for each status.
'Lite' edition uses default colors without the ability to customize it from control panel.

        • Post Flag: Last Check Note
Last check note can be displayed within each post to determine whether or not it has been checked before by "PHPKD - vB Link Verifier Bot" and when, simply select in which forums' posts this note should be displayed. That note will appear in posts within those selected forums only. Note that you can select multiple options by holding "CTRL" key while selecting.
After selecting appropriate forums, you have to do two simple manual edits as follow:
In 'postbit' & 'postbit_legacy' templates search for:

          <div class="postfoot">

And put before it directly the following code
This is where the "Last Check Note" will be displayed, so you can choose another place as preferred

          {vb:raw template_hook.postbit_phpkd_vblvb}

        • Post Flag: Last Check Note in first post only
Post Flag: Last Check Note can be displayed either in thread's head (first post) only, or in every post in the thread. That is depends on your usage & your product's settings.

This feature is highly experimental in it is nature, and not complete yet. This part is working anyway.

Ok that is a huge post and Im just scanning it looking for what this thing does. In a nutshell can somebody tell me what this mod does?

Does it just verify if links are alive or dead?

Hello lapiervb,

Thank you for your interest in our products.
This product scan supported sharing hosts links, and reports it's validity whether it's alive or dead, accordingly it will take action against the post/thread if there's dead links (depends on product configuration).
Please don't hesitate to ask for further assistance.

Best Regards
Abdelrahman - PHP KingDom
