Forum Registration Conversion Tracking
I asked about this back in June, no one answered me. I use google adwords, and I want to be able to track registration conversion tracking. I have no idea where to insert the code to verify that a registration has taken place. I looked in the register.php, and it doesn't really serve the purpose.
I need to be able to put my google tracking code inside a body tag, and there isn't one inside register.php. Is there an html file that gets called once a registration is complete, and can I put my tracking code in there? Anyone? |

Add it to the footer. Then its everywhere.
Then in Analytics add a goal: 'registration complete' and set each step in your registration process. This will allow you to see a fairly decent overview of the registration process conversion. |

If it's in the footer, then it's on every page. Isn't the conversation tracking code supposed to show up on one page when the actual registration is complete. I don't get the "goals" part. |

No need for any conversion code. it seems we are both talking about different approaches. Leave webmaster tools and go to Google analytics. Go to 'Goals'. Create a new Goal, in which you set the steps(pages) users have to go trough and set the page that is the goal.

The goal is based on some condition. So for example, getting to a a page where the URL shows registration as complete. If someone hits that page, then it registers a goal completion. The code is just doing the tracking part.
