Change the category bar width

Is there a way to change the width of the category title bar? I would like the grey title bar to match width of the category list below.

Added: Oh and get rid of the thread/posts last posts in the title bar and change it to something else.

That isn't how it normally looks. We would need a link to see the problem. For the thread/posts, just write some css to set display:none for them.
