Can't connect to database?
I'm installing vbulletin. I've gotten to stage 3 and it says it cannot connect to database.
As far I know I have typed everything in correctly in the config.php. I added a screenshot of what my site ays my database name is, but I've read on same places you need to put your username before or something? Would this be a correct 'db name' entry?' 'dbname' 'username' 'password' are all correct so it must be that? Please help? |

Is the host set correctly in config.php?
Id verify again & post up the actual db error message. |

The host? What do you mean sorry?
The error message is the following: "The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file." |

Is this set correctly?
Code:
$config['MasterServer']['servername'] = 'localhost'; |

Yes I did not edit that. I only changed dbname, username and password.

Then you have entered one of the four entries relating to the db incorrectly.

I'm with 123-reg.
I figured that, but I copy pasted them correctly. As from my original message, do I need to put anything infront of the data base? like username_databasename or site_databasename ? |

Verify the db name in your host panel or thru phpmyadmin.
If your on a shared hosting acct, id check with the host or in your hosting panel for the correct database servername as well. |
