How did they do this (facebook posting)?
I think the following site uses vBulletin. Somehow they are allowing users to post with their facebook account without registering. Is this a feature of recent vB versions or a mod? Any idea?
How do you get the driveway whiter? Go to the bottom of the above page and you will see "Join the conversation! Comment now with Facebook" thanks. |

We developed it for that client. There is a comment widget in Facebook which you can use as a starting point for that.

Thank you. Is it for sale?

Does it actually post it to the forum or just to the facebook comments? It looks like facebook comments only stay in the facebook comments block.
And please keep any discussion about buying or selling mods on Private Messages. |

No it's just a comment widget. See my comment: http://windowcleaningresource.com/vB...-wrong-me.html
You could put that anywhere. I used to have that on my vb4 site's arcade. |

In our case it is tied to the post link, so each post has its own comments, and a couple other changes for styling. We also had a problem with quick reply not working on some browsers with it enabled, but that was fixed by changing the placement of the Facebook comment widget.
We are working on a plugin that will have comments inserted into the post timeline, but I do not plan on releasing/selling it other than to the specific client, as it will have features specific to their community. I think this is a kind of thing that would be useful only to very specific communities; normal forums without strong commercial ties with Facebook are probably better off using Facebook as little as possible (leaving aside the Facebook app vBulletin offers, which some people might enjoy). |

It looks like there is a Facebook comment box only at the end of each page.

The new add-on will be up on their page I think in a week or two! I found out about this thread exactly because the client told me he saw some interest on the topic while we were working on it.
As I told before: implementing the comment system as it is now requires just some template edits, where you create a box surrounding the comment system. Then, you must tie the comment system to an app_id on Facebook's side, so that you can manage and moderate comments. And that's about it:easy! But you might have some problem depending on the style and on where you place the comment box, so try moving it around if this happens. About the post link: I was mistaking it with another client's website, sorry. The comment box on WCR is only tied to thread link, so each thread has a comment series. You only need to do what I said above to get the same setup working. |
