Title almost says it all really I want to insert the forum the 10 most recent posts are coming from either above the post title or under it (above "thread starter").

Do you mean you want the forum showing alongside the thread name?

Did you use this widget https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=236404 because that already gives you the forum name
