Its easier to create a new CMS than to have a functional reviews content type in vbCMS. There are too many problems with the vbCMS, including major SEO problems. Its important that reviews score well in Google. Especially if you want to monetize reviews.
Therefore this thread is not about vbCMS.

We decided to give up on vBulletin. We are going to venture with new problems onto IPB. At least IP.Content looks powerful and easy enough to create your own stuff. Since it looks we are going to have a lot of manual work with the reviews.. well lets do it to a different platform.

I see. Yes Of course, There are too many problems with the vBCMS indeen. We have been using it on one of our forums for the past 2 years and it barely meets the CMS requirements, opposed to something like wordpress, SEO is still a issue for those that dont use vBSEO and even then you have issues. But I wonder by the time there is a full fledged CMS alternate to vBCMS it would seem that they have already moved on to vB5. You are right I think I might be on the wrong thread entirely, i could swear i saw an exact same thread last year around here somewhere that was asking to combine funds to hire someone to make a slider. :erm:

Well I guess I will have to seek my CMS improvement requirements else where, at least until you guys come up with the alternate "new" CMS. Good Luck :up:

Yes, there was such a thread. That ended with the release of several free and commercial sliders.

It will be much much easier getting reviews in IP.Content. The CMS lends itself much better for it. There already is a database and custom content type system. I have even considered to use IP.Converge to tie IP.Content to vbulletin and then add a reviews content type to IP.Content.

Does anyone know if forumsmods.com will ever be back? It says it will be, but who knows? I know it had the same message before (like 5 months ago) and did eventually come back.. I haven't had any problems with the ForumsMod release. I am using it. I'm working on a custom music mod for my site that will use the review system as well.
