Writing an app... Where do I start
I'm no expert at php but want to give something a go in vbulletin 4. What I want to achieve is to create a page that is only available to edit for a certain group of users, but is viewable by others. Where do I start? I'm confused by templates and whether these are relevant.
A simple tutorial would be great. Thanks. |

Edit a page - that's pretty vague (maybe purposely so that you don't give away your idea?). Maybe you should look at this article: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228112 , it shows how you can start to use the vbulletin code on your own page. As far as templates: vbulletin is designed to keep html and css in the database in templates. If you're writing your own page you can use templates if you want, but you don't have to. I think probably you would want to use them unless you have a reason not to.
This probably isn't much help, but hopefully it's some kind of start. |

Sorry wasn't meant to be vague and its not an earth shattering or secret idea. The forum is related to a popular vacation destination. One group of users are home owners who rent out their homes. The others are standard forum users.
The plan is homeowners add details of their homes via an interface and they are shown next to their profile. |
