Displaying localized Forums(custom way)
Hi Everyone,
So we're working on problem, and I wanted to get some advice. We wish to display certain forums (logged in and logged out) based upon a cookie we've set. So for example: If the cookie says German we'll show only the forums for German people, and hide spanish and english. We originally were gonna do this using VB Native user groups, but this posed a problem for unlogged in users. So my second solution, is to edit the style, and throw in some PHP code to read the cookie. If the cookie says german, display forum ID 6, hide 7,8,9. I'd like your advice on which of the above is preferable: Using ACLs to hide/display the forums or editing the template. Is there another method that's better to display localization (not just the string translation, but separate forums for german, etc)? Thank you for looking~! |
