DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

DownloadsII 6.0.9 adds support for some changes in vB 4.1.8, but is still backwards compatible with older vB versions starting from 4.0.4.

About the DWNLOADS profile tab in member profile, I want to make it appear in all profiles even when the user didn't upload and doesn't have any file

Which (if condition) should I remove ?

I have one question...
in the old versions of this mod (for vb 3.8.x) all uploaded files are stored in the same directory /downloads/all_files_here
one simple example:
Forum for users, who likes share files
users on forum - 100.000
1 user uploaded 100 files
100000 * 100 = 10,000.000 (ten million) files in one directory?
it's crazy

one more example:
all files in this mod, stored with actual filename (+ some rand_value), right?
what about files with filenames in other language (non latin simbols)?
this files will be stored in file system (at least in linux FS) like this => ���� � ������ ��� ������� ����.zip

ok, what about this version? for vb 4.x ?

I'm asking for a fix since months. I even offered to pay for it but no luck. Its the same for any 4.x version.

We should be able to, at least, choose the add a link for the image files like for the files.

in my own file manager im use storge system, like vbulletin
path/to/uploads/u/s/e/r/i/d/fileID_TIMENOW.dlfile
or archived version files (multiversions of one file):
path/to/uploads/YEAR/MONTH/DAY/fileID_date_archived.dlfile
this vbulletin system work perfect and no need more
and it's simple
