Request: Anonymous Jumpback
Hi Everyone {bows to Firefly},
The idea: The way it works now...you are logged in. You see a topic you want to comment on, but you want to make an anonymous comment. Right next to your Logged in username on the posting form is a link to log out. But, when you click on it, you have to drill BACK through to the thread. Can anyone make a hack that causes the logout link to bring you automatically back to the same thread? To the POSTING form would be best, or to the page within the forum that has the thread. And, instead of just "logout" the link could say, "logout & post anonymously if allowed". Whaddya think? Alex

 leased: leased: leased: Does anyone know of a similar hack for the opposite effect? If they are browsing not logged in, click on a thread, and realize they'd like to post WITH their username? Currently it has a link for "want to register?" How about a hack that lets them log in and returns them back to the post? Whaddya think? Alex

If they want to post and are not logged in, they can log in and will get taken to the same page they were at.
The idea to make log-out like this originated in the log-in procedure.

O.K.,
I have two forums as no registration required, but 5 others I would like to use registration. My hope was to have users be able to log in and out without having to leave whatever thread they were looking at. We got logging out with this great link hack that you've shown us, Firefly. How about logging back in? When users choose the log-out redirect that you showed us, they then become logged out users. Once logged out, if they go to another thread and want to reply with their logged in profile, could they do it without leaving the thread? I notice on the posting form for logged out users that thereare fields for username and password. For logged out users those fields are filled with "unregistered"for username, and a blank for password. That's ok, but when I tried putting a registered username and password in those fields, it rejected them? Any ideas about letting them log back in and still be redirected or not leave the thread?
