If you can do what you want with a template, then it seems like that should work. A template is really just html, you can use other special tags but you don't have to. Another option would be to use php and make your html a string (or a heredoc: http://us2.php.net/manual/en/languag...syntax.heredoc), but I guess I don't see why that would be any easier.
