How to widen skin
Good day all,
I can't seem to find how I would widen my forum. My skin is like this skin, But I would like it to be wider. How do I do this? In the StyleVars? But which one? Sorry I am new to VB. Thanx for any insight that you can share. My Dark Tower |

Are you new to CSS? Is your CSS being served from the database or the filesystem? Widening an entire template isn't as simple as changing one variable. If you've got Firefox, get the Web Developer Tools and Firebug extensions, they'll make your life easier. You can inspect page elements (css, js, html, etc.). Chrome has similar features already included. The thing you'll need to adjust for starters is the wrapper div, it'll be called something like "html wrapper".

It really depends on the style your using, if your using a custom style then it could well mean you will need to edit the CSS, depending on how the designer made the template.
If your using the default style for instance then it can be as simple as going into your AdminCP Styles & Templates->Style Manager for the style you want to widen select the Stylevars option. in the search box on the left type doc_width, once highlighted select the units as % and size 100 for full width, or choose a slightly lower number to suit your needs, then hit save. |
