Scheduled Tasks
All,
I have a 3.8.6 version site preparing to launch in the near future. The problem is that I can't get the scheduled tasks to run when they are supposed to. I checked the footer and $cronimage is correct. I also am able to run the tasks fine manually (Run Now in Sch Task Mgr). When I edit the tasks and set the timing/frequency I see the next run time However, that time comes and goes and the task does not run. Has anybody else run into this? Thanks. |

The tasks only get triggered to run if users are on the site and loading pages. Do you have an active site?

It is still in demo, so not really. We log in (especially as admin) frequently, but not much posting. Are there specific pages that have to be loaded? Do they have to be loaded as non-admin users? How much activity is required?
Also, does a user have to be using the site when the task is scheduled to run? What if nobody happens to be on the site at that exact time, but there are active users 30 minutes later? Does it catch up on that missed task? Is it possible to schedule these with cron? Thanks!! |

When I go to my test site each morning, I just go clicking all around - any link - and get all the tasks to run. You can tell what is going on by looking at the Schedules Task Manager page in the admincp. Keep clicking until the top task has a time in the future.
