Different forum catagory colors
How do i get different forumhead_background colors for seperate catagories? I am talking about the bar that lists the catagory name. In style Var it is called forumhead_background.
For example: Forum catagory #1 = red Forum Catagory #2 = blue I have set up different sytles, assigned catagory to that style, but still get the defualt style throughout the site |

i guess it would have to go trough the , < if > functions , such as If forum = # , then Class="forumorange" ... or something in that nature, i havent done much studying on the new style system.

aw, that would be a pian I'm just confused, as the admin forum settings allow you ( I think ) to set syles per individual forum. But when i do as such nothing happens.

Have you already created different styles? If So: Admin CP > Forums & Moderators> Forum Manager > Choose forum you wish to edit > click on go > Style Options > Choose custom style > override users style choice - YES > SAVE If you don't already have 2 different styles > Go to Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > ADD NEW STYLE (Located as text Link) Create a new style separate from your default style, then follow the steps above to set it to work in your forums. :-) |

I don't mean to hijack a thread, but I have a very similar question and stumbled upon this thread looking for the answer myself.
Where davio33 is simply looking to change the category strip background color specific to the category (i think that's what he's been trying to say), I am looking to insert an image into the category strip specific to each category. As seen here. I had a mod installed on my VB3 forums that accomplished this, but I do not know of a mod yet for VB4 that accomplishes this. Any insight? |

You need to use conditionals and then assign seprate css class for each forumid using them.
