buttons are disapeared when changing user rank
I've just taken over a forum for bordercollie lovers. We migraited te complete site to www.bordercollieforum.nl (dutch forum)
The old version was 4.0.6. My version is 4.1.0 sp2. The migration went succesfull, no errors. But now i've discovering some weird problems. - when i changed a registred user to the rank of moderator, some buttons disappear for that group. Now i have quick buttons "arcade" "help" "gallery". These work fine for admin and registred users. All the other groups only have the "gallery" button, the rest is gone. Also there is no mod link in the above right position for moderators. But the user is able to moderate the postings. - when i login as admin, in the above right position, i have a link admin and mod. The admin workes fine, the mod doesn't. I log in, the system said "welkom ..... you are logged in" and redirected me to the same login page, where i have to fill in my user and pass. - some members are having troubles by login in. They also get the message " welkom ..... your logged in" and after that they returned to the login page over and over again. note: this specially happened when they are trying to log in without www in the url. Does someone has similiar problems or know an answer to the above? Thanks in advance, Paul Selten. |

- How did you add those Arcade, Help, Gallery navtabs? If by a modification, then you probably need to change something in the modification. You will need to ask about that in the modification thread.
- You allow users to view your forum via both www.yoursite.com and just yoursite.com, so what do you have your cookie domain set to? - Same as above. Sounds like a cookie domain problem or create an .htaccess to redirect all users from yoursite.com to www.yoursite. com (or vice versa, pick one). |

path is set to </> i created a permanent redirect now in the .httacces. It seems to be working for the users. The mod section is still not available. By clicking en filling in my adm account details, i only get a redirection to the same login page. ** url removed ** I will post the other question in modification. Thanks. |

Is this *you*, the admin, who can't log in to the modcp or your moderators? And did you change the modcp directory name or leave it default?

I removed the url to your modcp. I don't think you want people trying to get access.
You can log into your admincp OK? If you go to Maintenance > Diagnostics > Suspect File Version, do any *default* vbulletin files show up on that list as not containing the correct contents, or being the wrong version, or missing? |

There are a whole lot of files what are not good. (about 200)
Also all the files in modcp. <File version mismatch: found 4.0.6 Patch Level 1, expected 4.1.0 Patch Level 2> Does this mean that the update isn't correct, or can it be that i overwrite these files with the backup of the old owner? How do i correct this? Greetings Paul |

Most likely the problem is because of the file mismatch in your modcp. You need to upload the correct file version of your files.

I've replaced all the files with the original from version 4.1.0 sp2.
It seems that the problems are gone. mod login works fine now. If there are any other problems, i will open a new threat. Thank you very much for your help  Great !! Greetings Paul |
