its far too large , i dont know why they made it like that, but in any case... their website is a FIXED Size , so they can actually position the Background so it will sit right in the middle... so it looks like its spurs out of the sides....... kind of like my site , check it out.. www.vbdesigners.com , how you can make a similar effect even with a Fluid site... the ideal size would be perhaps 1800PX.. screen nowadays are getting bigger , and so does their resolution.. so that would be a safe bet shall we say.. then since most likely your minimum width is about 800PX .. or 1024X , then you can just leave a space in the middle of that size.. to avoid an oversize bg (in terms of sizekb etc..)... so do it trough the BODY tag , just under your CSS: body { } and just place it on center top , that should do the trick.
